Just watching the festivities in Sewoto..........what a great atmosphere to start the 2010 FIFA World Cup!

Looking forward to the games tomorrow........

Opening Game:

Bafana Bafana (South Africa) up first against El Tri (Mexico)

Host nation power will be great but not strong enough to overcome a very talented and explosive Mexico side that has been playing some of their best soccer at the end of qualifications.  Coach Javier Aquirre will play an open style of attack and South Africa will try to match....predict goals by both teams but 3 for Mexico and only 1 for South Africa.

Players to watch:  Franco (MEX), Vela (MEX), Blanco (MEX), McCarthy (SA)

Second Game:

Los Charruas (Uruguay) against Les Bleus (France)

Despite less than impressive qualification games from France, they always know when to get it done on the world stage.....arguably one of the most talented teams player for player on the planet, it will come down to team chemistry and unity on the pitch.

Look for Diego Forlan to create some good opportunities and test the back line of Les Bleus.  Uruguay will be organized and very physical defensively but France's talent will prove too much in the end.  Between Anelka, Ribery, and Henry along with Malouda and Gourcuff, France is equipped to score goals in bunches if they are on.  Prediction is that France doesn't have it all clicking yet but still manages to squeak by Uruguay either 1-0 or 2-1.  Possibility of a draw is high here too based on Uruguay's style.

Players to watch:  Henry (FRA), Anelka (FRA), Ribery (FRA), Forlan (URU), Abreu (URU sub)

Should be a great day of soccer.  Hope you can tune it to see it like more Americans than ever before.......take a look at this link that shows how the US is really becoming a supportive soccer country......US is a Soccer Country!

Next post will have our staff's at you soon.  Feel free to post your predictions and let us know your thoughts before and after these games!  Thanks.

As much as I hate to say it I think Mexico will win 2-0 but I really hope RSA pulls it out, especially with the passing of Nelson Mandela's great grand-daughter after the kick-off concert. RSA needs a pick up in spirit!

I'm going to say Uruguay wins 2-1 over France. I wasn't impressed with France's qualifying and Uruguay played well through qualifying and Deigo Forlan can be a dangerous striker.
