NCAA Bylaw 16.02.3 "Extra Benefits" Prohibited

This form, if authorized by you, permits the University of Cincinnati to examine automobile related records to ascertain their accuracy and to ensure that the NCAA's extra benefit legislation has not been compromised. An extra benefit is any special arrangement by an institutional employee or a representative of the institution's athletics interests to provide a student-athlete or the student-athlete's relative or friend a benefit not expressly authorized by NCAA legislation. NCAA rules requires that all student-athletes report any form(s) of financial assistance other than that contained in their institutionally approved financial aid package or that provided by parent(s) or legal guardian(s). STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC YEAR EMPLOYMENT DECLARATION FORM

NCAA Bylaw 15.2.7 states that earnings from a student-athlete's on- or off-campus employment that occurs at any time is exempt and is not counted in determining a student-athlete's cost of attendance or in the institution's financial aid limitations, provided: (a) The student-athlete's compensation does not include any compensation for value or utility that the student-athlete may have for the employer because of the publicity, reputation, fame or personal following that he or she has obtained because of athletics ability; (b) The student-athlete is compensated only for work actually performed; and (c) The student-athlete is compensated at a rate commensurate with the going rate in that locality for similar services. However, before a University of Cincinnati student-athlete may secure employment and begin working, the form below must be completed in its entirety and submitted to the UC Compliance Office for approval. UNIVERSITY HAZING POLICY

  1. The following hazing policy was adopted by the university.
    1. The laws of the State of Ohio concerning hazing shall be observed.
    2. that creates a substantial risk of causing mental or physical harm to any person. A forced or coerced activity shall also be considered hazing when the initiation or admission into, or continued affiliation with, a university organization is directly or indirectly conditional upon performing that activity. In no event shall the willingness of an individual to participate in such activity serve as a defense in cases of hazing.
    3. Actions and activities which are explicitly prohibited include, but shall not be limited to, the following:
      1. Any activity that creates a substantial risk of physical or mental harm to the individual.
      2. Paddling, beating, or hitting individuals.
      3. Wearing anything designed to be degrading or to cause discomfort.
      4. Depriving individuals of the opportunity for obtaining a minimum of six hours of sleep per day, or proper and adequate means, or access to means, of maintaining body cleanliness.
      5. Activities that interfere with an individual's academic efforts by causing exhaustion, or loss of reasonable study time.
      6. Use of drugs.
      7. Eating or drinking foreign or unusual substances, including alcohol, or anything an individual chooses not to eat or drink.
      8. Having any object or substance thrown at, poured on, attached to or otherwise applied to the bodies of individuals.
      9. Any activity or game that makes an individual the object of amusement, ridicule, or intimidation or which causes the individual to be degraded or humiliated.
      10. Kidnapping, transporting and/or stranding anyone.
      11. Interrogations or audible stress such as yelling or loud noises.
      12. Activities which are illegal such as theft or public indecency.
      13. Activities which are contrary to the policies and rules of the university.

Any violation of this policy shall be handled through the student organizations and activities office. Possible violations of the state hazing laws will be reported to civil authorities for prosecution. Hazing is a criminal offense in Ohio. Sanctions shall include a reprimand, probations, suspension, dismissal or other disciplinary sanctions.

OFFICIAL VISIT STUDENT HOST POLICY

Serving as a student host is a critical function to the University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics that carries with it important responsibilities. Appropriate conduct is required of you by UC and NCAA standards.

NCAA Bylaws and Athletic Department policies require you to abide by the following rules:

  • Conduct yourself in a manner that represents yourself, your team, and your University in a positive way.
  • Do not transport the prospect more than 30 miles from campus.
  • Do not allow in-person recruiting conversations between the prospect and a booster of the University of Cincinnati. (NOTE: If an unplanned meeting occurs, an exchange of greeting is permissible, but in a polite manner do not allow the conversation to go beyond a greeting).
  • You may not use an automobile for the prospect or for yourself that has been provided by the University or a University booster.
  • You cannot purchase or provide alcohol or drugs for PSA, even if they are of legal drinking age.
  • You cannot consume alcohol or take drugs while performing hosting duties during the visit, even if you are of legal drinking age.
  • You cannot arrange and/or use host money for sexual encounters or adult entertainment for the PSA.
  • You may not take the PSA to casinos or participate in any other gambling/gaming activity (e.g. horse racing).
  • You or the PSA shall not participate in any activity that violates criminal law, including but not limited to assault and battery, underage drinking, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • You may receive a maximum of $30 per day for a prospect (maximum $60). The thirty dollars is one-half for you and one-half for the prospect and is intended to cover the actual costs of entertainment. If you are hosting more than one prospect, you will receive $15 per day for each prospect after the first.
  • A partial or nonqualifier may not serve as a student host.

Student host must keep all receipts and give the unused money and receipts to their coach.
