The Sheakley Athletics Center includes two fields, one 100 yards in length and the other 50 yards. The facility provides football, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, and soccer the much needed additional practice space they require. The 100-yard field provides the lacrosse team an intimate location with stands, press box, and scoreboard for its home matches. The 100-yard field transforms into an indoor practice facility from November to late February thanks to an air-supported structure or "bubble" that inflates over the field. When inflated, the structure gives the Department of Athletics an additional 72,200 square-feet of space for practice. The bubble maintains an interior ambient temperature between 50-60 degrees during the cold Cincinnati winter.
