CINCINNATI - On August 24, 2009 UC Athletics and UCATS introduced the Each One Reach One New Member Referral Program in an effort to grow the base of support for Bearcats Athletics. UCATS (University of Cincinnati Athletic Team Support) is the fundraising arm for UC Athletics, responsible for raising the necessary funds on an annual basis to provide scholarship support for over 500 student athletes that represent the Bearcats in 18 varsity sports.

The program empowered current UCATS members with the framework to recruit and refer prospects to UCATS, and ultimately receive rewards for the referral of new members. Program participants received significant priority point bonuses and became eligible for drawings for other great prizes, while also receiving the opportunity to compete for grand prizes awarded to the program’s top ambassadors.

Thanks to the ambassadorship of current members, to-date UCATS has welcomed 165 new members and raised over $22,400 through the Each One Reach One campaign. In 2009, for the first time in Bearcats Athletics history, UCATS has passed the 4,000 member plateau with over 4,200 memberships. This growth is paramount to the sustained success of Bearcats Athletics in the BIG EAST conference and on the national stage, and allows UC Athletics to achieve the goals of excellence on the field of play and in the classroom.

The 2009 Each One Reach One Ambassador of the Year is John Courter. John referred 24 new members to join UCATS in winning the grand prizes awarded for both the highest number of new donors to athletics and the highest dollar value raised. For his efforts, John was the recipient of a VIP football experience for the Bearcats game versus UConn on November 7, 2009. As a part of the package, he received VIP suite access, sideline passes for the game, on-field recognition, and a football autographed by Head Coach Brian Kelly. In sweeping the grand prize awards, John is also the lucky recipient of a Men’s Basketball VIP experience, which includes the use of the Athletic Directors suite for an upcoming Bearcats basketball game.

    Program prize winners included:
Tyler Campbell (UC Student: program runner-up with 19 new members) - VIP Basketball experience, UC Basketball vs. Prairie View A & M
Mark Broderick - Leather Cincinnati Bearcats Portfolio
James Radley - Cincinnati Bearcats Fleece Jacket
David Smith - 2009-10 Men’s Basketball Media Guide
Vince Collopy - Brian Kelly Autographed Football
Nathan Held - Mick Cronin Autographed Basketball
    Richard & Gail Friedman - Two (2) UC Men’s Basketball Tickets @ Louisville 1/24/2010
Thomas Donnellon - TaylorMade Cincinnati Bearcats Travel Bag
John Saylor - UC Adidas hat, TaylorMade Golf Towel, & Divot Repair Tool
Jim Zdinak - UC Adidas hat

In order to be eligible for grand prizes and other rewards, referrals had to be submitted by October 30th in order to allow UC Athletics to administer benefits during the 2009 Fall Sport seasons. The Each One Reach One Program continues until December 31, 2009 with point bonuses being rewarded towards 2009-10 point totals for all referrals received by the end of the calendar year.
