Bearcats Give Thanks for Athletics Donors|

Nov. 27, 2013
On this special day of thanks, our 547 student-athletes, 149 employees and 19 teams would like to thank our Bearcats supporters for their generosity. We are deeply appreciative of our more than 5,000 UCATS donors and all of those Bearcats who give their time, energy and financial support so that we can work to achieve our athletic mission.
Every gift makes a difference - and every gift helps UC student-athletes in our drive for comprehensive excellence. Whether giving through the capital and major gifts campaigns, the scholarship fund or to sport specific programs, every dollar has been used to better the lives of the UC student-athletes and make the University of Cincinnati athletic department one of the finest programs in the nation.
Though every donation at the University of Cincinnati is meaningful, UC would like to recognize a few of our loyal donors who have gone above and beyond during the past year.
At the 2013 Legion of Excellence ceremony, Troy Neat was awarded with the Strubbe Distinguished Service Award while Richard E. Thornburgh and Lou Lauch were both inducted into the Order of the Black Blazer for their long-standing support of the University of Cincinnati athletics department.
Additionally Michael and Margaret Valentine were presented with the President's Award for Excellence from the University of Cincinnati while Larry and Rhonda Sheakley were named the Philanthropists of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
Director of Athletics Whit Babcock, UC athletics employees, and all UC student-athletes would like to extend a sincere thank you for all of the gracious gifts and contributions to the department. We hope you enjoy a happy and healthy holiday season.
