Omar Banks joined the UC Department of Athletics as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Affairs in March of 2009.

Banks currently serves as the department's CFO and is responsible for all aspects of the financial/business, administrative, and personnel activities of the department of athletics.

He has oversight responsibility of the Ticket Office and the Athletic Equipment Room. He is also involved in long-range financial planning and strategic management, and works on special projects as assigned, including requests for proposals (RFP's), contract development, and capital projects.

Banks is also responsible for developing and recommending financial and administrative policies and procedures for the department.

Prior to coming to UC, Banks served at Virginia Commonwealth University for over two years, where he was Director of Ticket Operations and oversaw the accounts receivable function for the athletic department. He also served as Athletic Business Manager and Ticket Manager at Hampton University in Hampton, Va.

Prior to working in college athletics, Banks worked for Fidelity Investments as a Finance Manager, and with IBM in various Project Management capacities.

A former college football player, Banks earned his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Richmond in Richmond, Va., and his M.B.A. from North Carolina Central University in Durham, N.C. In 2004, he received a master of science degree in Sports Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.
