Chris Stone joined the Bearcats staff in October 2011 and serves as an academic advisor in the office of Student-Athlete Support Services. He works with baseball, men's and women's golf, men's soccer, men's and women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and women's volleyball. In this role, Stone is responsible for tracking and maintaining the academic progress of more than 150 student-athletes and works closely with coaches to ensure each student-athlete's needs are met.
Prior to joining the athletics staff Stone worked from 2009-2011 as an academic advisor for UC's College of Nursing where he recruited students and developed admissions standards. Stone also assisted transfer and first-year students become acclimated with UC through group, individual and classroom advising sessions.
Stone also served as admissions officer for UC's Office of Admissions from 2007-2009. During his stint with Admissions, he played an integral role in transforming the tour guide program from nine paid tour guides to over 40 paid guides. He developed several territories to recruit high-caliber students to UC and implemented travel strategies to improve efficiency by creating electronic forms that could be completed while on the road. In addition, Stone established a postcard program to follow up with students whom the Office of Admissions visited.
Stone maintains a high level of involvement around campus. He has volunteered with the Orientation Office since 2005 and serves on several committees at UC, including the Academic Advising Committee and Undergraduate Academic Advising Association. His activities in the community include Relay for Life, volunteering at his local YMCA and serving as a football coach in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Stone graduated from UC with a degree in criminal justice and a minor in business.
