Andre Foushee, who serves as director for sports communications, joined the University of Cincinnati athletics department in August 2011, working primarily as the media contact for Bearcats men's basketball.

Foushee's duties include handling all media requests for coaches and student-athletes; pitching stories to print and broadcast media; developing promotional campaigns highlighting players for postseason awards and preparing content and related information for GoBEARCATS.com. He also manages media-related activities on game days and maintains and updates statistical information and historical records throughout the season. Foushee also coordinates all student-athlete nominations for the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America awards for UC's 18 varsity sports.

Foushee worked seven years as an assistant media relations director within the Vanderbilt University athletics department from 2000-07. During his stay, Foushee worked primarily with the men's basketball squad for four seasons, including a pair of NCAA tournament Sweet 16 campaigns. He also spent time spearheading the publicity efforts for the baseball and women's golf teams and assisted with the media relations duties for football.

Foushee has either assisted with or served as the host institution media relations director for numerous postseason league and NCAA tournament competitions including NCAA women's basketball, NCAA baseball, NCAA men's tennis and NCAA gymnastics events as well as Southeastern Conference men's tennis, women's golf and men's and women's track and field events.

Prior to Vanderbilt, Foushee worked as an associate editor with Host Communications, Inc. (now IMG College) from 1998 to 2000. Among his responsibilities, Foushee was the primary account representative for the University of Kentucky as well as several specialty publications including the SEC men's and women's basketball and baseball postseason tournament programs. He wrote features, assigned stories and coordinated photography assignments for UK football and men's basketball game programs while managing deadlines for the publications' layout, design and production.

Foushee worked as a communications coordinator with USRowing in 1998, writing articles and coordinating all advertisements in the organization's monthly membership magazine and quarterly newsletter. He also coordinated event publicity for several national USRowing regattas while assisting with the development of media guides and press kits.

A 1996 graduate of the University of Kentucky, Foushee returned to Lexington in 2009 to assist in the media relations and compliance offices for two seasons. He worked as the primarily media contact with the men's and women's tennis and gymnastics squads and assisted with the media efforts for the women's basketball team. He also assisted with the athletics department's development of social media policies and procedures. A native of Louisville, Ky., Foushee is a member of CoSIDA and the United States Basketball Writers Association.
