Jones joined the UC staff in February 2005 as the director of enrollment management in the Honors Scholars Program. He has held his position as the assistant director of athletics for student-athlete academic services since March 2008.
Jones provides leadership, management and oversees the day-to-day operations of academic services, which includes managing a budget of $500,000. He supervises five professional staff, two graduate assistants, one intern, 30 academic tutors and approximately 10 student workers. He is the liaison with admissions, financial aid and other academic units. He works primarily with women's basketball and men's soccer to assist in meeting institutional and NCAA eligible requirements.
Prior to his arrival at Cincinnati, Jones was the director of admissions at Clark State Community College for 16 years. He developed, implemented and evaluated the Comprehensive New Student Outreach and Contact Plan involving faculty, administration, student service staff and students. He also developed and implemented a systematic correspondence system to communicate with prospective students.
Jones began his career at St. Andrews Presbyterian College as an assistant basketball coach and admissions office after completing his masters in educational administration from Miami (OH). He earned his bachelors in health and physical education from Miami (OH).
