Cassaundra Thorpe joined the University of Cincinnati as the Life Skills Coordinator in October 2011.
At UC, she is responsible for coordinating programs and community service opportunities for the student-athletes to fully engage in what the college has to offer. She is also involved in community outreach, where student-athletes volunteer their time to be a positive role model in someone else's life. She also serves as the advisor for SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Counsel) and CPAWS (Committee to Promote Athlete Welfare and Success).
She comes to Cincinnati after serving a one-year internship as an athletic academic advisor at Xavier, where she monitored and communicated the progress of student-athletes' academic, athletic, personal and post graduate issues.
Thorpe spent several years at Springfield College as an athletic counselor/intern and assistant to the compliance officer. Once a women's basketball student-athlete, she also spent one season as an assistnat women's basketball coach at Springfield.
Thorpe earned her bachelor's degree from Saint Anselm College in psychology before pursuing her master's of education of psychology and counseling in May 2010.
