Athletic Trainer/Women's Soccer
Gretchen Waters has been with NovaCare Rehabilitation, a partner with the University of Cincinnati athletics department since 2010. Named an associate athletic trainer in March 2012, Waters works primarily with the women's soccer, cheerleading and dance teams and has adopted an administrative role within the sports medicine department.
Waters is currently updating and revising department policies, procedures and emergency action plans for varsity facilities as well as serving as the department liaison for the athletic training education program.
In spring 2011 Waters was a member of the insurance reform committee. The committee was designed as an internal audit of the Athletic Departments Insurance Policy compliance. The creation of the Insurance Reform Committee lead to the development of the current insurance policy, the self- funded secondary insurance program currently employed by the department, and a more efficient health care system for UC Athletics.
Waters earned a bachelor's degree in health promotion and education from Cincinnati in 2008. She received a master's in biomechanics from the University of Kentucky in 2010. She worked as an athletic trainer intern at UC during the 2010-11 academic year.
