About Cincinnati Cheerleading

The UC cheerleaders have consistently proven themselves to be one of the elite squads in the nation. The Bearcats have finished 8th place or better three out of the last four years at the College National Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, FL. They accomplished this even though 11 of the 16 participants were brand new to the competition. The 2003 squad finished 5th and the 2001 squad also finished 8th place. The 2002 squad finished 16th in the nation; a good showing after several key injuries occurred just prior to the competition.

The Bearcats missed the 2000 and 1998 competitions due to commitments at a Men's Basketball tournament and the Humanitarian Bowl, respectively. The 1999 squad finished 15th at the national competition. UC finished fourth at the 1997 championships, the second best finish in school history, second only to the No. 3 finish in 1991.

Tabby Fagan is in her 13th year as cheerleading coach. A 1993 Cincinnati graduate, Fagan was a member of the varsity cheerleader team for five years and cheered on three squads which advanced to the national finals.
