(1:31 p.m.): So much of the talk - locally and nationally - has revolved around the Joe Tresey-UC-Brian Kelly soap opera, and all parties have been careful with their words in the two weeks leading up to Thursday. They've complimented each other and shown each other respect. Not a cross word has been spoken. 10/12/09 - UC getting healthier
(5:59 p.m.): Before the bye week, Brian Kelly talked about the need to self-scout his squad, to fix the defense's third-down conversion percentage, to tighten up his offensive scheme, to get the Bearcats right. 10/9/09 - Mick Cronin Q&A, part I
(1:10 p.m.): Had a lovely telephone chat with Mick Cronin this morning, a week before the Bearcats basketball team takes the court for the first official practice of the 2009-10 season. 10/7/09 - The time of possession conundrum
(2:59 p.m.): In its last two games, in its wins against Fresno State and Miami, the UC offense is averaging 27.5 points and 395.5 total yards per game. Not bad figures, right? Especially considering the Bearcats scored 25.9 points and racked up 370.6 yards per contest during their Big East title run last year. 10/5/09 - Monday's notes
(12:20 p.m.): We talked about him last week, about his ability to move to defense on three days notice, about his willingness to be a team player and about his talent that allows him to play offense and/or defense on a week-to-week basis. 10/3/09 - UC-Miami Rock `N Roll Party
(5:24 p.m.): I think Brian Kelly summed up today's game in his opening statement pretty perfectly. Good effort by the Bearcats, not good enough execution, need to shore up a few things during the bye week. 10/3/09 - UC-Miami live blog
I've thought all week about how the RedHawks could compete with the Bearcats and possibly spring the upset. Yeah, you can talk about redshirt freshman quarterback Zac Dysert - who threw for 337 yards and ran for 107 yards last week against Kent State (the 444 yards of total offense was the sixth-best in school history) - but I just don't see how the RedHawks can compete.
