Swimming finishes day one at Miami Invitational

OXFORD, Ohio - The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving teams opened the first day of the Miami Invitational by competing in the 800 freestyle relay and 1,650 freestyle.

The UC team of Aleksandra Kaminska, Iuliia Fedoreeva, Amanda Hardewig and Andrea Bartel placed sixth in the 800 freestyle relay. The Bearcats clocked a time of 7:36.18. Kendra Bierman, Haley McLellan, Lindsay Rossi and Brenna Stout teamed up to finish 10th in 7:59.19.

The men's mile saw Adam Monk finish 15th in 16:46.85, while Dylan Telford touched in 17:05.01 to place 17th.

The women's 1,650 saw Taylro Myszka finish 14th with a mark of 17:10.98, while Milli Puth was 16th in 17:14.77 and Katie Nemann was right behind her in 17:23.04. Emma Gresser clocked-in at 18:15.87.

Tommy Easley, Dean Waite, Donovan Kearns and Joe Scherpenberg swam the men's 800 freestyle relay in 6:46.44 to finish fourth. The other UC squad of Michael Palleros, Rob Walsh, Jay Guffey and Robbie Caudy touched in 6:56.94 to place seventh.



Action resumes at the Miami Invitational on Friday, Dec. 6, with preliminary swimming starting at 9:00 a.m. Preliminary diving for the women's three-meter and men's one-meter begin at 2:00 p.m. and the day's finals competition get underway at 6:00 p.m.
