The Bearcats are coming off a sweep of Wright State in their final home meet of the season. The men defeated the Raiders, 157-138, while the women won by a margin of 159-121. Read the full recap of the meet here.
The Wildcats are coming off a sweep at the hands of another American Athletic Conference foe, Louisville. The UK men fell to the Cards, 212.5-87.5, while the Wildcat women were defeated, 193-107. The meet is UK's final home meet of the season and will serve as their senior day.
Freshman Jackie Keire has been the top performer for UC on the women's side. The Canadian owns the American's top times in the 100 freestyle (48.52), 200 freestyle (1:45.38) and 500 freestyle (4:41.33). All of those times have also hit the NCAA B-Qualifying standard. Other UC women with top-five times in the American include Weronika Wasiakowska in the 100 free (fourth), Keire in the 1,000 free (second), the trio of Taylor Myzska (third), Hope Andrews (fourth) and Keire (fifth) in the 1,650 free, Helena Pikhartova in the 100 breaststroke (fourth) and 200 breaststroke (fourth), Iuliia Fedoreeva in the 200 butterfly (fifth) and Andrea Bartel in the 400 individual medley (fourth).
The UK meet is the regular season finale for the Bearcats. Next up will be the inaugural American Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, which will be hosted by Louisville Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 19-22.
