CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving teams will welcome University of Kentucky to campus Saturday for a dual meet at Keating Aquatics Center.
The meet will begin at 11 a.m. with diving competition, followed by swimming events at 1 p.m. In recognition of Cincinnati’s final home meet of the 2012-13 season, 10 Bearcats seniors will be honored prior to the swim races at approximately 12:30 p.m.
UC is coming off a dual-meet defeat at Ohio State last Saturday where the Cincinnati men fell to the No. 10-ranked OSU men’s team 152-133 and the UC women were downed 171-115 to the No. 15 Buckeyes.
In the women’s 400-yard individual medley against Ohio State, freshman Iuliia Fedoreeva and sophomore Aleksandra Kaminska placed first and second with marks of 4:35.42 and 4:38.88, respectively.
Bearcats junior Weronika Wasiakowska placed second in the women’s 100-yard freestyle with a recorded time of 52.12. Senior Bailey Laban was 1.15 seconds behind with a fourth-place time of 53.27. Laban added a third-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a mark of 1:06.81.
Junior Victoria Jacumski produced a third-place time of 2:22.27 in the women’s 200-yard breaststroke.
In the men’s division, sophomore Mike Kaplan earned third-place points in the 200-yard freestyle after finishing in 1:42.82.
Kentucky last competed Saturday against Louisville, when the UK men fell to UofL 152-148 and the Wildcats women lost 168-132.
