CINCINNATI — The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will host a pair of dual meets versus West Virginia and Pittsburgh on Friday and Saturday at Keating Aquatics Center.
The Mountaineers come to town to face off against UC on Friday. The meet will begin 3 p.m. with diving competition, followed by the swimming portion of the meet, which is set to begin at approximately 5 p.m. Saturday’s meet with the Pitt Panthers is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. with diving competition, which will precede the swimming events at 1 p.m.
In their first action of the 2012-13 season, the Bearcats split their dual meet against crosstown rival Xavier University on Oct. 19. The UC women won 188.5-96.5 over Xavier, while the Bearcats dropped a close meet that came down to the final two events by a score of 158-136 in the men's division.
Last season, the UC men (237-60) and women (217-82) lost a road meet at Pittsburgh on Nov. 11, 2011. The next day, the WVU men (178-107) and women (191-104) defeated the Bearcats in Morgantown, W.Va.
West Virginia combined for 24 first-place finishes last weekend at Villanova. The men’s team was victorious against the Wildcats, winning by a score of 174-113. The women’s team also faced James Madison in a double-dual meet and won against both opponents, beating Villanova 171-128, and James Madison 163-137.
The Panthers men’s and the women’s teams enter Saturday’s meet with 1-1 records after each team beat St. Bonaventure on Oct. 20 before losing to Virginia on Oct. 28.

PARKING ADVISORY FOR SATURDAY’S MEET: With the UC football team scheduled to kick off at noon Saturday against Syracuse, on-campus parking for Saturday’s swimming and diving meet will be limited to cash-only garages. Cash parking on Saturday will be available for $15 per vehicle at Campus Green, Woodside, Clifton Court and Eden garages, where credit cards will not be accepted. There are shuttles that run frequently from Eden Garage to University Avenue Garage. Please refer to the West Campus map and East Campus map for directions.
