Kris Mack enters his third season with the University of Cincinnati men's track and field staff. Mack will continue to coach the jumps for both the men's and the women's teams.

2011 was another great year for the Jumpers of Cincinnati. Mack coached one of the nations best pole vault groups. MacKenzie Fields broke the indoor school record in the pole vault, jumping 4.21m (13'9.75). She tied the outdoor school record, jumping 4.16m (13'7.75). Sarah Rasnick broke the freshman school record, vaulting 4.05m (13'3.5"). Junior Michelle Eby also had a successful year vaulting 4.06m (13'3.75). The trio went 2, 3, 5 at the Big East Indoor Championships and competed at the NCAA East Preliminary Outdoor Championships. On the Men's side, Freshman Josh Dangel and Junior Tommy Marks vaulted their way to 3^rd and 4^th place finishes in the Big East Championships and to the NCAA East Preliminary as well with vaults of 5.10m (16'8.75) and 5.05m (16'6.75) respectively.

In 2010, Mack coached a trio of talented Men High Jumpers. Brandon Fitch set a seasons best 7'1" in the High Jump. Fitch ranks #2 All-time, finished 3^rd at the Big East Championships and qualified for the NCAA First Round. Mike Foley and Ryan Beltz were right behind Fitch, both with Season Best Jumps of 6'9.5". In the Mens Pole Vault, Tommy Marks jumped a lifetime best 16'1 and finished 6^th at the Big East Championships. On the Womens side, Mack mentored Mackenzie Fields in the pole vault to a life-time best and NCAA Indoor Qualifying mark of 13'2.5" (#2 All-time). Mack also guided Michelle Eby to a 2^nd place finish at the Big East Indoor Championships with a career best jump of 12'11.5". Outdoors Eby vaulted 12'10 and qualified for the NCAA First Round. Mack also coached Kayla Dunn, who finished 4^th at the Outdoor Big East Championships and 6 th indoors setting a lifetime best vault of 12'10" and qualifying for the NCAA First Round. Mack helped Stefanie Ponte set a lifetime best 12'4" indoors, placing her 5^th at the Big East Indoor Championships.

Prior to Cincinnati, Mack spent 6 seasons with the Cardinal of Stanford University.

In 2009, Mack coached a host of talented athletes on the men's and women's side, including all-American Whitney Liehr. Liehr was an all-American in the pentathlon during the indoor campaign and an all-American in the triple jump during the outdoor campaign. Under Mack's watch, Liehr set the school record in the pentathlon during the NCAA's with a score of 4,063 points. Mack also worked with Katerina Stefanidi, who set the freshman, indoor, and outdoor records in the pole vault. On the men's side, Mack mentored Casey Roche, who placed in the pole vault at the Pac-10 Championships meet with a clearance of 17' 1", and Corey Dysick, who placed fourth in the MPSF during the indoor campaign in the pole vault (16' 11-3/4") and fifth in the decathlon (6,864) at the Pac-10 Outdoor Championships.

In 2008, Mack led a trio of athletes to all-America honors with Graeme Hoste (pole vault), Josh Hustedt (heptathlon), and Dani Maier (javelin) earning accolades. Hoste completed a season where he set Stanford's indoor school record in the pole vault (18-4 ¾) won the MPSF indoor Championship and finished fourth at the Indoor NCAA. Hustedt also won the MPSF indoor Championship, set the Stanford School Record and finished as the NCAA runner-up in the heptathlon (5837pts). On the female side, Mack coached Maier to a school record in the javelin (174-0). She was also the Pac-10 runner-up and finished ninth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Prior to Stanford, Mack enjoyed success coaching athletes at various levels. In 2003, Mack served as an assistant coach at Bloomington North High School in Bloomington, Ind. In one year at Bloomington North, Mack led four athletes (two throwers/two vaulters) to the Indiana State Track and Field Championship meet and helped Bloomington North to the 2003 Sectional and Regional Track and Field Championship titles.

While working as a graduate assistant coach at Indiana University from 2000-02, Mack worked with Dino Efthimiou as he placed fifth at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pole vault (17'11.25) and claimed all-America status.

In 2002, Mack earned his M.S. in Biomechanics from Indiana University, where he studied under Jesus Dapena, the Sports Biomechanics high jump specialist for USA Track and Field.

During the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials, Mack was an assistant coach for Sky Jumpers Vertical Sports Club and coached Paula Serrano to a 10th-place finish in the women's pole vault. While working at Sky Jumpers (1996-2000), Mack assisted with the development of many elite high school pole vaulters, including Chelsea Johnson, Shayla Balentine, Monica Pacas, and Kasey Lundgren.

Mack completed his education at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo in 2000, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Kinesiology and Biochemistry. While on the track team at Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, Mack obtained a personal best of 17-4 in the pole vault and his team qualified five pole vaulters to the 1998 and 1999 NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Mack and his wife Paula (Serrano), the 1999 NCAA Champion in the women's pole vault, have three sons, Travis, Caleb, and Dustin.
