CINCINNATI - The final day of action at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., came to a close Saturday afternoon with the University of Cincinnati track and field team once again posting solid marks across the board, including the team’s third school record of the weekend to go with three individual victories at the meet hosted by Indiana. All told, the Bearcats competing Saturday recorded 11 more personal bests, 17 season bests, five marks ranking in the program’s all-time Top 10 and one school record. For the two-day event, UC student-athletes combined to record 23 PRs, 37 season bests, 14 marks in the Top 10 and three program records, two of which (Annette Echikunwoke in the women’s weight throw and Adrian Valles in the men’s pole vault) currently lead the NCAA.

Jimmy Brooks not only captured the title in the 600m run, but also broke a 25-year old school record in the process as he ran 1:19.07 to down the previous mark of 1:19.34 run by Quentin Respress in 1992. Brooks was joined on the top spot on the podium by a pair of jumpers as Kellsa Mbah and Sergio Acera combined to sweep the long jump competitions. With his win, Acera swept both horizontal jumps (long and triple) on back-to-back days after securing the top mark in the triple jump Friday night.

// WOMEN’S RESULTS
- Mbah continued her successful weekend in Indiana on Saturday as she captured the title in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.00m (19-08.25). That mark ranks her third all-time in program history as she became just the third UC woman to reach the 6m mark indoors. Irati Mitxelena, who was runner-up in the triple jump Friday, placed seventh in the long jump at 5.58m (18-03.75) while Angelica Lightfoot was 19th at 5.02m.
- Bryana Robinson and Haisha Bisiolu competed in the invitational section of the 200m dash and both posted personal-best times and marks that rank highly on the program’s all-time Top 10. Robinson, who broke the school record in the 400m dash last week, ran 24.24 to finish second Saturday and move into the No. 3 position in school history. Bisiolu turned in a time of 24.47 to finish fourth on the day and move into the No. 6 position on the 200m all-time Top 10. Both women joined with Deanna Gesicki and Sylvana Ross to run 3:47.06 and finish third in the 4x400m relay to cap the day’s races.
- Echikunwoke was the top finisher in the shot put for UC as she placed sixth with a best of 14.77m (48-05.50). Just behind her was Ashley Williams, who was seventh at 14.70m (48-02.75), a mark that not only is a personal best, but also the seventh-best in UC history. Alexis Gray also competed in the event, finishing 13th overall with a PR of 13.19m (43-03.25).
- Sammy Hentz raced in the 800m run and finished eighth overall as she turned in a season-best time of 2:20.65, just two seconds off her personal-best and a four-second improvement from last week in Kentucky.
- Naomi Urbano and Maggie Loeffler both competed in a pair of events with the multi-event specialists each earning PRs in the 600m run. Urbano led the way with a time of 1:40.19 to finish 10th overall while Loeffler was 14th in 1:43.60. The duo also competed in the high jump with Urbano tying for third place at 1.63m (5-04.25) and Loeffler tying for sixth at 1.58m (5-02.25).

// MEN’S RESULTS
- Brooks, fresh off an impressive debut in the 60m dash one day earlier, took the rarely run 600m event and won the invitational section in 1:19.07 while also breaking the school record. The previous mark was 1:19.34 by Quentin Respress, which he ran 25 years ago in 1992. Both men are the only Bearcats to run under 1:20 in the event. In the open division of the same distance, Ryan Greene turned in a personal-best time of 1:24.31 to place ninth overall.
- Acera, who won the triple jump Friday night, came back and won the long jump Saturday as he leap of 7.24m (23-09.00) took the top spot in the event. Acera has a better mark this season (7.35m) as he was 1cm off his personal best last week in Kentucky.
- In the 200m dash, Jaashir Morris was one of two men that crossed the finish line in 22.29, but the Bearcats sprinter was awarded second place by 0.006 seconds (22.284-22.290). Khalid Fuller also ran in the race and placed ninth overall with a season-best 22.77.
- Morris and Brooks joined with Halen Witcher and Kevin Konkoly to run the 4x400m relay at the end of the meet with the team racing to a third-place finish with a season-best 3:17.27.
- Alex Bloom finished third in the high jump with a clearance of 2.06m (6-09.00), just 1cm off his season best of 2.07m.
- Macklin Tudor led the throwers on Day 2 as he recorded a season-best mark in the shot put by placing third overall with a best of 17.71m (58-01.25). His teammate, John Zedella posted a personal best in the same event, tossing the ball out to 15.48m (50-09.50), just under 40cm from the program’s all-time Top 10 list (15.87m).
- In the lone distance event of the day, freshman Logan Baker lowered his collegiate PR in the 800m to 1:55.08 to place sixth overall while teammate Jarrod Hart clocked a season-best 1:55.82 to finish ninth overall.

The Bearcats will return to the road next weekend to compete in the Thundering Herd Invitational hosted by Marshall in Huntington, W.Va. The meet will run Friday and Saturday (January 27-28).
