Men's Track & Field Closes Out Run At Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The University of Cincinnati men's track and field team got an event win from Dailyn Moore and a strong run from Maurice Norman on the final day of action at the Alabama Relays inside the Sam Bailey Track & Field Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Norman took third place in the invitational 400 meters with a time of 47.58, which ranks among the Top-20 times in the country this season.

Moore won the 110 hurdles with his time of 14.30, ranking him among the Top-20 hurdlers in the country in 2012. Bryan Cain took fourth with a time of 14.61 and Mario Cannon was 11th with his effort of 15.12.

Michael Rutherford and Ryan Wynn placed 6-7 in the 800 meters, with times of 1:54.76 and 1:55.73, respectively. Kyle Neyer was 15th with his effort of 1:58.72.

Evan Baum took second, Jeff Griffiths placed fourth and Matt Collmar was 10th in the 1,500 meters, clocking finishes of 3:56.60, 4:00.66 and 4:17.35, respectively.

Darius Howard, Dylan Bourelle, Steven Mitchell and Darnell Gilbert crossed the line in 42.54 to place ninth in the 4x100 relay.

The 4x400 relay squad of Bryan Maldinger, Kevin Hicks, Cain and Gilbert finished in 3:16.97 to place third overall.

Brian Barney (1,200 meter leg), Kevin Hicks (400), Zachary Fields (800) and Brian Palmer (1,600) clocked 10:31.32 to place fifth in the distance medley. The B group of Ethan Bokeno (1,200), Neyer (400), Tony Williamson (800) and Rob Flannigan (1,600) were on their heels in sixth, breaking the tape in 10:36.55.



Michael Nwankwo took second in the triple jump with a leap of 14.16m (46-05.50), ahead of Kyle Donthnier in 10th place with a best jump of 13.07m (42-10.75).

Chris Littleton was second in the shot put with a heave of 15.67m (51-05.00), achieved on his second throw.

Brian Zimmerman was second in the javelin, throwing 59.99m (196-10), besting his previous top throw this season of 185-11.

The Bearcats are back in action next weekend, playing host to the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational, the team's final home meet of the season. The meet will run on both Friday, March 30 and Saturday, March 31.
