The University of Cincinnati track & field programs were busy on Day Two of the NCAA East Prelims on Friday as six Bearcats competed in Jacksonville, Florida.

Jessica Molyet started off the day for UC as she competed in the discus. The senior threw 159’ 0” to claim 30th in her fourth NCAA Regional.

The hurdles were the first race of the night and featured a pair of Bearcats with Bryan Cain in the 110-meter hurdles and Je’Rica Sanders in the 100-meter hurdles. Both garnered 34th place finishes with Cain running 14.19 and Sanders crossing at 13.79.

Kenya Woodall raced in both the 100 and 400-meter dash finals, which were just 30 minutes apart. Her first race was in the 400 where she took 19th with a time of 53.36. The sophomore came up three-tenths of a second short of advancing to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

The Coatesville, Pennsylvania native also finished 19th in the 100 with a time of 11.64.

Michael Nwankwo competed in the triple jump and finished 32nd, respectively. The sophomore jumped 48’ 6.75”.

Fellow sophomore Erika Hurd entered the high jump competition with the fifth best mark but came up short by taking 27th. The Manchester, Maryland native cleared 5’ 7.75” in her second consecutive NCAA East Prelim appearance.

UC closes out the NCAA Regional meet tomorrow with Josh Dangel in the pole vault and Macklin Tudor in the discus. Both athletes compete at noon and must finish top 12 to advance to the NCAA Championships.
