University of Cincinnati senior Kaitlyn Good was named the American Athletic Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday as announced by the league office.
Good won the pentathlon at the Rod McCravy Invitational with a point total of 3,799 while also setting a personal-best throw in the shot put. The Vandalia, Ohio made her move in the high jump and shot put as she won both events and finished strong with a second-place finish in the 800-meter run. In the shot put, she hurled a throw of 41’ 5.25”, which is a career high.
Her 3,799 points ranks her first in The American and places her 12th on the national list.
Good’s point total from the weekend is the second-highest total of her career. Her personal-best was achieved at the SPIRE Collegiate Season Opener on Dec. 15, 2012 with a score of 3,907, which ranks second in school history.
The Bearcats return to action this coming weekend at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind. The meet begins the afternoon of Jan. 31 and wraps up the night of Feb. 1.
