Indoor Track & Field Heads To Hoosier Hills Invitational Friday

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati indoor track and field team will head to Indiana Friday to compete in the Hoosier Hills Invitational inside the Harry Gladstein Fieldhouse in Bloomington, Ind.

Cameron Gardner will start off the evening in the 60 meters at 5:25 p.m. before taking part in the triple jump at 7:30 p.m.

Shanice Smith is scheduled for three events, taking part in the 60 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters. Alyssa Edley will also compete in both the 200 and 400 meters but will start off the evening in the long jump at 5 p.m.

Bridget Connolly and Cortney Staruch are scheduled to run in the mile at 6:05 p.m.

Closing out the night will be the 3,000 meters with three student-athletes, Ashley Earman, Lauren Goodwin and Alex Mahle scheduled to compete. Goodwin and Mahle will run in heat one while Earman toes the line in heat two.

In other field event action, Emily Clay, Michelle Eby and Sarah Rasnick will compete in the pole vault which is scheduled to get underway at 6 p.m.

Mekayla Breland and Bridget McNeill are slotted for the weight throw at 7:20 p.m. Breland will also throw in the shot put at 9 p.m.

Following this meet, UC will prepare for the 2012 BIG EAST Conference Indoor Championship, set to run Saturday, Feb. 18 and Sunday, Feb. 19 at New Balance Track & Field Center at the Armory in New York City.
