2007 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- University of Cincinnati senior high Renee Hein will compete in the high jump at the 2007 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend (March 9-10) in Fayetteville, Ark.
Hein is ranked No. 4 in the nation heading into the meet, with a 6' 1-1/2" clearance. Three weeks ago, the Cincinnati native and Mother of Mercy graduate set the BIG EAST high jump record with a 6' 0-3/4" leap, winning the conference title. She competed in the high jump in six meets this season, winning five and finishing second in the other. She has held the school record in the high jump for three seasons.
Hein is making her third NCAA Championship appearance after competing in the high jump at the 2005 and 2006 Outdoor Championships, becoming the first female track and field athlete in school history to participate in the NCAA Championships more than once.
The meet kicks off on Friday morning with the heptathlon and pentathlon. The women's high jump finals begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday in the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas.
