// BEARCATS HONOR ROLL | DEAN'S LIST
CINCINNATI - The grades are in and it was another banner semester in the classroom for Bearcats Athletics as the departmental grade-point average (GPA) rose once again to lead several other records recorded by University of Cincinnati student-athletes for the Spring 2017 semester.
Overall, Bearcats student-athletes combined to record a 3.253 departmental GPA, which bettered the 3.21 record set one year ago (Speing 2016). To reach the new platuea, 285 student-athletes landed on the Bearcats Honor Roll (71 percent) with a 3.0 GPA or better while 190 made the Dean's List (47 percent) with a 3.4 GPA or better. Both of those percentages are the highest recorded in UC history. On top of that, 30 Bearcats posted a perfect 4.0 GPA to earn TopCat Honors led by nine women's soccer players earning the distinction.
For the 18th grading period in a row, Bearcats student-athletes have combined to record a 3.0 or better departmental GPA with 15-of-17 UC teams recording a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better while eight of those squads posted a 3.5 GPA or better this spring.
Four teams recorded their highest team GPA's this semester, including men's golf (Doug Martin), women's golf (Janet Carl) and both track & field squads (Susan Seaton). Both golf squads not only recorded their highest GPA, but broke their team records set in the fall while also standing as the best in the department, leading all men's teams with a 3.603 and all women's teams with a 3.822.
Following the semester, 70 Bearcats earned their degrees. To learn more about the recent graduates, click HERE.
