Men's Team Adds 11 to 2014 Signing Class; March Signee Updates

University of Cincinnati head men's track & field/cross country coach Kris Mack has announced the addition of 11 athletes to the 2014 signing class of eight, which was originally announced in March. Wtih adding these 11 athletes, Mack feels the roster has more depth, which will help improve the team by create competition among one another.

Andre Anderson
Valley Stream, N.Y. | Valley Stream Central | Cornell | Sprints
Andre comes to UC after graduating from Cornell and running three seasons for the Big Red. He has finished top four at the Ivy League Championships in the 400-meter hurdles twice and been a runner-up in the 4x400-meter relay twice as well. In 2013, he qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary Round.

Seamus Collins
West Chester, Pa. | West Chester Henderson | Distance
Seamus is a solid distance runner from Pennsylvania that will be looked at to make an immediate impact on the distance group. He ran an impressive 9:19 in the two mile at Nike Henderson Invitational. Collins was on West Chester Henderson's 4x800-meter relay that garnered a runner-up finish at the Pennsylvania 3A State Championships.

Ryan Greene
Ft. Thomas, Ky. | Highlands | Sprints
Ryan comes to UC after sitting out the 2014 season, due to an injury. Prior to 2014, he was one of the top 400 runners in Kentucky. He is a two-time Kentucky Class AA State qualifier and won the 400-meter dash in 2013.

Toby will join the Bearcats this fall and make an immediate impact on the cross country program and distance group with already running a 3:49 in the 1,500-meter run and 8:21 in the 3,000-meter run.

Jon comes to UC after being an Ohio D1 state qualifier in cross country. He has a personal-best time in the two mile of 9:38.70.

Joe Ratterman
Cincinnati, Ohio | Elder | Jumps
Joe is one of the top pole vaulters in Ohio. He is a three-time District champion, two-time Greater Catholic League champion and two-time Ohio D1 State qualifier. Ratterman finished fourth this spring at the Ohio D1 State Championships.

Tim comes to UC after a successful high school career at Centerville. Last season, he finished fourth at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in the hammer throw.

Nathan Smith

Nathan will continue his track & field career at UC after having a successful four years at Oak Hills. Smith was a District and Greater Miami Conference champion in the 400-meter dash this season.

Kelvin is an impressive 110-meter hurdler from Florida. He is a three-time District champion, and he also won the Pepsi Florida Relays this spring.

Mike comes to UC after a successful high jump career at Thomas Worthington. He is a three-time Ohio Capital Conference high jump champion and finished fourth in high jump at the Ohio D1 State Championships this spring.

Alex Bloom

Bloom capped off his senior season by qualifying for the Wisconsin D2 State Championships in the high jump, long jump and pole vault. The highlight of the state meet for Bloom was winning the long jump with a personal-best leap of 22' 8". He also garnered a runner-up finish in the high jump with a clearance of 6' 8". In his final four meets of the season, he cleared 6' 8" or better in the high jump.

Spencer Clark
West Des Moines, Iowa | Dowling Catholic | Distance
Clark qualified, posted personal-best times and placed top eight at the Iowa 4A State Championships in both the mile and two mile. He also ran those races at the historic Drake Relays earlier in the year, where he finished sixth in the two mile.

Huben posted a personal-best time at the New York State Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as he ran 9:24.94 to claim fourth. He also claimed the ECIC title in the two mile and finished fourth in the mile.
