The University of Cincinnati track team had nine student-athletes named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
Representing the men's team was Eric Finan (3.897 GPA/Mechanical Engineering) and Jake Haseman (3.449/Aerospace Engineering).
On the women's side, UC's seven representatives helped the BIG EAST Conference to rise to third among the nation's leagues with 65 honorees.
Earning a place on the team was: Frida Akerstrom (3.292 GPA/Operations Management), Ashley Arnold (3.983 GPA/Educational Leadership [Masters]), Paris Campbell (3.400 GPA/Fashion Design), Michelle Eby (3.789 GPA/Pharmacy), Mackenzie Fields (3.955 GPA/Secondary Education - Math), Shanay Portis (3.443/Criminal Justice) and Sarah Rasnick (3.415/Food and Nutrition).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
