Meet Information

The University of Cincinnati track and field programs participate in their first official meet of the season this Friday and Saturday at the Hoosier Open in Bloomington, Ind. The meet is slated to begin at 5 p.m. ET in the Gladstein Fieldhouse.

The Bearcats are coming off their Black vs. Red Intrasquad Meet, which was held last weekend in The Armory-Fieldhouse. Most of the team competed but everyone was limited to only a few events.

UC returns nine of their 11 student-athletes that participated at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary Round for the outdoor season. At the top of that list is All-American pole vaulter Josh Dangel and Swedish National Championship shot putter Frida Akerstrom.

The Hoosier Open’s first events start at 5:15 p.m. ET with the women’s weight throw and the men’s 60-meter dash. The meet will have a rolling schedule with the final event scheduled for 9:10 p.m. ET. Saturday’s competition will just feature the men’s and women’s pentathlon beginning at 9 a.m. ET.

The meet will play host to a number of the top regional track programs, including Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Butler and Southern Illinois.

Unofficial results from the meet can be found here or at the link above.
