Family: father Gary - a leader in Boy Scouts of America in the Columbus area - and mother Diane (school teacher), brother Ross

Favorite food?: Mexican...or any kind

Favorite music?: alternative rock, blues and jazz

Favorite form of other entertainment?: cooking

Favorite thing to do when not studying or training?: Anything outdoors - hiking, climbing, camping, backpacking, you name it.

Favorite training run?: In Cincinnati - from UC to Ault Park. At home - on the New Albany bike path. Best run ever - from the Olympic stadium to the top of Montjuic in Barcelona, Spain.

Favorite music to listen to on a training run?: I don't I don't listen to music while running...its a distraction that causes you to not listen to whats happening around you and not to listen to your body. Instead, running is somewhat like a form of meditation where I can gather my thoughts and clear my mind. But better than that is the conversations that we have as a team while running. These have been some of the funniest, and most thought provoking conversations I have ever had. It is also how I relly got to know all of my teammates.

Favorite competition course?: The 2010 Great Lakes regional course in Oakland, Mich.

Favorite place in Cincinnati?: Hard to say. Over the Rhine is always interesting and teeming with culture and history. But on the flip side, Hyde Park and Columbia Tusculum are some of my favorite places to run through. If I had to pick one I'd probably say Ault Park.

Hobbies?: Cooking, listening to and playing music, backpacking.

Why did you choose UC?: Co-op was a huge factor, but I also wanted to compete at the NCAA Division I level and go to a larger school. UC offered everything I was looking for in one comprehensive package and was also relatively close to home.

Future career plans?: I have no idea. I would love to be an entrepreneur one day, but besides that i can't really say at this time. I am focusing on the present first.
