THE FLYER 5K FIELD: The Flyer 5K will be the season-opener for all seven schools. Of those teams, Miami led the way, followed by Cincinnati and Xavier, in both the men and women's races. Miami's men's team finished ninth, while UC placed 14th and Xavier 18th. For the women, the RedHawks finished 12th as a team. Cincinnati was 16th and the Musketeers placed 23rd overall.

On the men's side, juniors Kevin Schwarz, Brad Neumann, and Taylor Garvin will be looked uponfor leadership on the course. Transfer John Dixon and freshmen Rick and Randy King will be expected to make immediate impacts.
Senior Karen Berling is expected to be a major force for the Bearcats. She will be supported by fellow veterans junior Cristy Doll and sophomore Jennifer Hannen, as well as freshmen Ellen Knopf, Kris Schuerle, and Justine Yauch.
