The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s cross country teams bump up in level of competition this weekend as they race at the Bluegrass Cross Country Invitational in Lexington, Ky. on Saturday morning.

The women will again run a 5K this weekend, and junior Ashley Earman returns to action as the team’s top finisher from last weekend’s Queen City Invitational.  Earman finished the 5K race in a time of 18:20.12 and claimed ninth place, respectively.

The men will make their 8K debut after running a rare 5K race at the Queen City Invitational. Last weekend, seniors Evan Baum and Oliver Book were Top 10 finishers with both clocking in just over the 15-minute mark.

The Bearcats will run against a good field of nine teams. The field includes Oklahoma State, whose men’s team is the defending national champion and top ranked this season, Akron, Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Miami (Ohio), Mt. St. Joseph’s, Transylvania and host, Kentucky.

The Bluegrass Cross Country Invitational begins Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. ET with the men’s 8K. The women’s 5K race will go off at 10:10 a.m.
