CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati's men's and women's cross country teams look to continue their string of first-place finishes when they compete at the Ohio Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 27. The race will take place at the Ohio University golf course with the women's race starting at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's race at 11:15 a.m.
The men's team will compete against Ohio University, while the women will run against Cleveland State, Shawnee State, and Ohio.
Both the men's and women's teams are coming off back-to-back wins at the Queen City Invitational and the Mel Brodt Invitational. Senior Randy King turned in the top time for the men at the Mel Brodt Invitational with a time of 25:57.57 in the 8,000-meter race. In three races this season, sophomore Lilian Jelimo has a second-place finish and two first-place showings, including the top time of 17:39.16 in the 5,000-meter race at the Mel Brodt Invitational on Sept. 13.
Following the Ohio Invitational, the Bearcats compete at the All-Ohio Invitational on Friday, Oct. 10, in Delaware, Ohio.
