After a two week hiatus, the University of Cincinnati cross country programs are back in action this weekend in Terre Haute, Ind. Both squads will be running at the Pre-Nationals meet, which is the same course that will host the NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships on Nov. 23.
The last time UC ran was on Oct. 4 at the All-Ohio Championships, where the men placed sixth out of 47 teams and the women took 17th out of 60.
On the men’s side, Evan Baum has been Cincinnati’s top runner. Baum has a season-best time of 24:53.28, which he ran at the Bluegrass Invitational, and has finished inside the top 10 twice. The men will run the 8K course this weekend.
Ashley Earman has paced a young women’s program. The junior has finished top 25 in both of the meets she has run this season, including a personal-best 5,000-meter time at the Queen City Classic. The women will run a 6K course this weekend.
Both the men’s and women’s races will be split up due to a large number of teams attending the meet. The men’s team is slated to run at 11 a.m. in the 8K Blue Race, while the women start at 12:55 p.m. in the 6K White Race.
