  • Three-year letter winner on the Bearcat football squads of 1969-70-71.
  • Helped team compile an 18-14 record, including back-to-back 7-4 seasons in 1970 and 1971.
  • Starting member of the secondary his junior and senior seasons.
  • Three-year starter at third base on the Bearcat baseball team.
  • Batted .332 as a junior and set a school record with seven RBIs vs. Southern Illinois.
  • Played minor league baseball following graduation, posting a .300-plus batting average.
  • Won the Texas League batting title in 1975 with a .342 average.
  • Played briefly with the Toronto Blue Jays.
  • UC Athletic Hall of Fame 1991.
