- First at UC to capture a national championship, winning the 200-yard butterfly at the 1946 NCAA Championships, and in the process, earning All-American honors.
- Helped team to an eighth place finish at the 1946 NCAAs.
- Served as team captain in 1947 and 1948.
- Named UC's Most Outstanding Athlete in 1946.
- Finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke in 1948.
- Instrumental in supporting swimming and diving in the Greater Cincinnati area.
