  • Four-year track and field letterwinner whose records set in the 1970s remain among the UC milestones.
  • Qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of his four seasons.
  • Posted a school-record 7,886 points in the decathlon.
  • Record time in the 440 yards (46.5) still stands.
  • Qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1984 in the decathlon and at one time was ranked as high as fourth nationally.
  • Returned to UC as assistant track and field coach in 1984 and was promoted to head coach of the women's track and field team.
  • UC Athletic Hall of Fame 1991.
