SETTING THE SCENE: After missing the weekend series against Cleveland State due to inclement weather, the University of Cincinnati baseball team returns to the diamond on Tuesday afternoon when it hosts Youngstown State. Triumphant in four of its last five games, Cincinnati (4-4) looks to continue its winning ways. YSU enters the game with an 0-6 record after returning to Ohio from a weekend series at Alabama.
SPEEDY SCOTT:After showing he was loaded with power at Miami (FL), where he hit the Bearcats' first home run of the season, Jamel Scott has shown his speed over the past five games. UC's swift sophomore is a perfect 12-of-12 in stolen base attempts this season. Scott stole eight stolen bases on as many chances against Chicago State and followed that with four successful steal attempts in nine innings against Marshall. Scott made a straight steal of home in the series finale, a 7-4 victory, against Chicago State. He reached base and stole safely four times against Marshall. The Bearcats' leading hitter, Scott boasts a .333 batting average and leads the team with his .484 on-base percentage.
