CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball sophomore Ian Happ (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) landed a spot on the American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll on Monday, March 17 after a strong showing in four games last week.
Happ recorded a batting average of .667 in four games to lead the team to a 3-1 record. Additionally he had a slugging percentage of .667 and an on-base percentage of .737 en route to eight hits, five RBIs and five runs scored. He also showed his maturity at the plate, taking a team-high six walks in four games.
The sophomore tied a career high with three hits in an 18-5 win over Dayton on Tuesday, March 11 and recorded two hits in both games of a doubleheader on Saturday, March 15.
Happ is beginning to make his mark in the American, ranking eighth with a .494 slugging percentage and sixth with an on-base percentage of .461.
The Bearcats will be back at Marge Schott Stadium on Tuesday, March 18 with a midweek game against Wright State University at 4 p.m.
