CINCINNATI – Sophomore right fielder Justin Glass (Fort Wayne, Ind./Carroll) was named to the weekly BIG EAST Conference honor roll on Monday for his performance March 28-April 1.

Glass, a 2011 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America and second-team All-BIG EAST honoree, recorded a .500 batting average (8 for 16) with one home run and nine RBIs, while slugging .688 and reaching base at a .524 clip in four ballgames against Dayton and Pittsburgh.

On March 28 at Dayton, Glass produced a career-high five RBIs and scored twice after hitting 5 for 6, including his first longball of the season. The five hits were also a career-best for Glass.

On the season, Glass leads UC in batting (.382), slugging (.491), on-base percentage (.440), runs (23), hits (42), stolen bases (10), total bases (54) and walks (13). In addition, the 6-foot-2 slugger is second on the team in RBIs (17) and doubles (9).

Glass is the third Bearcat to be named to the BIG EAST honor roll in 2012, joining freshman third baseman Joey Bielek (Scottsdale, Ariz./Chapparal), who received the accolade March 6, and freshman left-handed pitcher Zach Morris (Edgewater, Md./DeMatha Catholic), who earned the distinction March 12.

Cincinnati plays the Ohio Bobcats 6 p.m. Tuesday in Athens, Ohio before playing host to South Florida Thursday-Saturday at Marge Schott Stadium.
