CINCINNATI -University of Cincinnati shortstop Chris Peters (Tipp City, Ohio/Tipp City) was named to the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll, the league announced Monday.

Peters, a senior shortstop, batted 10-for-18 (.556) with four doubles, one triple, seven runs scored and two RBI in four games played last week. In Game 1 of an April 30 doubleheader at University of Pittsburgh, Peters recorded a career-high four hits on his way to a 4-for-6 game. For the week, not only did he record a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, Peters produced .889 slugging and .619 on-base percentages.

For the season, Peters is batting .327 with 35 runs scored, 21 RBI and a team-best .427 on-base percentage.

Peters' recognition marks the fifth time this season a Cincinnati student-athlete has been named to the conference honor roll. Previous recipients include: senior outfielder Justin Riddell (Lexington, Ky./Lexington Catholic), who earned the distinction twice on April 25 and March 7; senior RHP Nick Johnson (Delphos, Ohio/St. John's), who received the distinction April 11 and March 14; and junior first baseman Nic Spence (Victoria, Australia/St. Joseph's), who joined Johnson on the April 11 Honor Roll.

Senior right-handed pitcher Dan Jensen (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) is the only Bearcat this season to receive a player of the week honor when he was named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week on April 4.

SITE CHANGE: Cincinnati's game against Wright State University on Wednesday, May 4, has been moved to Marge Schott Stadium due to field conditions at WSU's Nischwitz Stadium. First pitch is now scheduled at 6 p.m. ET.
