CINCINNATI — The baseball game between the University of Cincinnati and Miami (Ohio) University scheduled for Tuesday, May 8, at Marge Schott Stadium has been canceled.
As is common practice, both schools scheduled one extra tilt above the NCAA limit of 56 regular-season games prior to the start of the 2012 season in anticipation of a likely rainout.
However, UC has not experienced a rainout this season, which is a rarity in college baseball.
The Bearcats and Redhawks were originally set to play a home-and-home midweek series – with UC hosting Tuesday and Miami hosting Wednesday – with both programs agreeing to the possibility of canceling one of the games at the time the series was scheduled last offseason.
Cincinnati and Miami will still play 6 p.m. Wednesday at McKie Field in Oxford, Ohio. Steve Jarnicki and Ben Hunterman will call the action live on Real Talk 1160 (WQRT-AM) and RealTalk1160.com.
