A pair of University of Cincinnati baseball student-athletes, pitcher Zach Isler (Union, Ky./Covington Catholic) and outfielder Jake Proctor (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills), will take the field in the 2011 Great Lakes Collegiate Summer League All-Star Game, set for Wednesday, July 13 at 6 p.m., inside Great American Ball Park.
Both Bearcats are playing this summer for the Cincinnati Steam in the GLCSL.
The GLCSL All-Star game will take place in a Major League Baseball stadium for the first time. Gates at GABP will open at 4:30 and tickets are $10 each. Tickets can be purchased online at HamiltonJoes.com, at all Hamilton Joes games and can be obtained at all AllWealth Federal Credit Union locations.
Proctor is second on the Steam with a .348 average and has added 13 RBIs while hitting out of the third spot in the batting order and playing centerfield.
Isler, who is serving as the team's closer, has also been one of the Steam's more consistent arms. He is 2-0 with a 0.90 ERA in eight appearances. In 10 innings, he's allowed only one earned run, while allowing no walks.
