Ian Happ Named First Team Collegiate Summer All-America

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati baseball player Ian Happ (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) capped a successful summer with the Cape Cod League’s Harwich Mariners by being named first team Summer Collegiate All-America by Perfect Game.

The junior was selected to play in the prestigious league for the second consecutive summer and led the Mariners to an Eastern Division title and the Cape League Commissioner Cup Award. Happ was named the team’s MVP after batting .329 with a .433 on-base percentage and a .503 slugging percentage. He scored 25 runs and recorded 26 RBIs to go along with eight stolen bases.

Happ is one of three outfielders selected to the Collegiate Summer All-America first team. Players were selected to the list based on their summer performance with an emphasis placed on the most competitive leagues.

Additionally, Happ was named to the 2014 All-Cape Cod League team and was a participant in the league’s All-Star game for the second straight summer.
