CINCINNATI – Head Coach Ty Neal and the University of Cincinnati baseball team have announced the dates for their annual fall red/black series and homerun derby. The series will comprise three games that will be played on Wed., Oct. 16, Fri., Oct. 18 and Sun., Oct. 20 while the homerun derby will be immediately following the game on Fri., Oct. 18.
All festivities will coincide with the University of Cincinnati homecoming weekend. UC baseball alumni and fans are encouraged to come out and get the first glimpse of the 2014 baseball Bearcats in action. All games and the homerun derby will be free of charge and open to the public.
The red/black series is an annual event for the Bearcats and will showcase the team that will suit up in the spring. Players will be divided into two teams for three full scrimmages, representing regular-season series play.
The first game will take place on Wed., Oct. 16 beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Marge Schott Stadium.
On Fri., Oct. 18, the Bearcats will suit up for their second game of the series at 3:30 p.m. and will host the annual alumni homerun derby immediately following the conclusion of the match.
The final game of the series will take place at 1 p.m. on Sun., Oct. 20 at Marge Schott Stadium.
