THE SERIES

The loss drops Cincinnati's lead in the all-time series to 5-4, between Cincinnati and Seton Hall and 1-1 in games played at Seton Hall. The Bearcats took the first meeting in the Meadowlands, 72-62 in 2006. The first six games were played on neutral courts .

 

GAME NOTES

  • The Bearcats have lost their last two games by a combined total of four points. 

 

  • Cincinnati scored the first nine points of the afternoon and held a 24-16 advantage midway through the opening half.

 

  • Deonta Vaughn scored 10 of his team-high 15 points in the first half to keep the Bearcats within six, 36-3- at the break. The sophomore guard also finished the game with four assists, three rebounds, and two steals.

 

  • Senior point guard Jamual Warren tallied six assists and three turnovers against the Pirates to maintain his better than 2-to-1 assist to turnover ratio.

 

  • Dealing with injury and foul difficulty that limited him to 12 minutes of play, senior forward John Williamson collected nine points to go with three rebounds.

 

  • Rookie center Anthony McClain totaled four points and six rebounds in nine minutes of competition.

 

  • Cincinnati's bench outscored Seton Hall's, 20-6.  UC tallied an 8-0 advantage in fastbreak points.  Cincinnati won the battle in the paint, outscoring SHU, 30-12.

 

  • For the third consecutive outing, the Bearcats finished with 11 turnovers.

 

  • Cincinnati outrebounded Seton Hall, 32-31.
