PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Sam Young scored 18 points and DeJuan Blair had 17 to lead No. 4 Pittsburgh to its fifth straight win, an 85-69 victory over Cincinnati on Saturday.
Jermaine Dixon added 14 points and Gilbert Brown 12 for the Panthers (23-2, 10-2 Big East), who shot a season-best 67.4 percent from the field. They missed only eight two-point field goal attempts the entire game.
Mike Williams had 17 points and Larry Davis 13 for Cincinnati (17-9,7-6). The Bearcats came into the game having won three straight and five of six. Cincinnati shot over 50-percent from the field for the second consecutive game.
The Bearcats have a week off before returning to the Fifth Third Arena floor on Saturday, Feb. 21, when it welcomes rival Louisville for a 2 p.m. tip. The game will be televised locally on Fox Sports Ohio as part of the BIG EAST Network.
