UAB Head Coach Mike Davis
"I thought we did a great job of handling the double team tonight, which hurt us the last game. We did a better job of taking care of the basketball. We had a couple stretches there where we turned it over two or three times in a row. But we had some practice time Thursday and Friday to get ready for the double team...We played just enough to win. Tonight I thought I we did a great job of staying with the system."
On the team playing a full game
"To be honest with you, we won this one without Vaden shooting the ball well. That's a plus for us. He's a guy we depend on to get 20 points a game along with Walter Sharpe. It was good to see us play the system...I'm quite sure Cincinnati hadn't seen that because over the last 3 or 4 games, we haven't had ball movement. We haven't had guys go make plays. We have a very good offense system in place. We need to make sure we execute it."
Cincinnati Coach Mick Cronin
"The few guys that played last year should understand what it takes to be competitive at this level. You cannot play defense at this level. You can't turn the ball over and you have to block out. That's A, B, and C to giving yourself a chance. We have a long way to go to get to where we can be a good basketball team. There's a difference between having some athleticism and a good basketball team."
