On Jamual Warren
"Jamual played excellent tonight. I thought he did a great job penetrating. I thought he did a great job playing point guard tonight. We came here expecting to win. We let [Xavier] guys do what they normally do, and that's what beat us during the last three or four minutes of the game."
"We've been in a lot of tough environments. We already knew what to expect."
On Cincinnati's play
"In this game the effort was there. I think everything was there. We're not exactly all the way happy because we didn't get the "W." [We] executed, we didn't get rattled out there. Were we underdogs? [We] didn't know that."
"We studied their personnel with film and walk-throughs. But then we got away from what we were doing."
"When the ball is on the floor, that's just like a dog going after a bone. It was like a street fight."
Head Coach Mick Cronin
"I was proud of our guys' effort. That being said, we are disappointed we lost the game. We played 37 minutes of good basketball. When Xavier had 51 points with three minutes left to play we were in position to win. But the last three minutes and change [2:35] we gave up 13 points. We didn't execute on defense."
On Derrick Brown's play
"I thought we let him into the lane. But you've got to give him credit. He did a great job."
"Xavier played zero freshmen tonight. And we have no one on the floor who's played more than a year and nine games. It's our job to teach them to play hard. We're getting there. Our attitude is great. I'm asking these guys to do things they are not ready to do. We've got a lot to learn in a short period of time. But no doubt, this was our best effort defensively."
