Three Awards in a Row for Jackson
Justin Jackson has been named the league's player of the week each of the last three weeks.

CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior forward Justin Jackson has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the third consecutive week, the league announced on Monday.

Jackson averaged 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 6.0 blocks, 3.0 steals, 2.5 assists and shot 57.9 percent from the field (11 of 19) last week as Cincinnati defeated SMU (65-57 on Jan. 1) and won at then-No. 18 Memphis (69-53 on Jan. 4). He scored a game-high 17 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and making a career-best seven free throws to go with six rebounds, five blocks and a career-best five steals in win over SMU. He then poured in 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with eight rebounds and a career-high-tying seven blocks in UC's 69-53 win at No. 18 Memphis on Jan. 4.

During Cincinnati's six-game win streak Jackson is averaging 15.3 points while shooting 61.9 percent from the field (39 of 63) to go with 9.7 rebounds, 4.3 blocks, 2.2 steals and 2.2 assists.

Jackson earned player of the week honors for the second time on Dec. 30 after matching a career high with 19 points on 9-of-14 shooting and pulled down a career-best 13 rebounds to with four blocks against Chicago State (Dec. 23) and registered 15 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks and two steals against Nebraska (Dec. 28).

He claimed the award for the first time in his career on Dec. 23 after netting a game-high 12 points to go with nine rebounds against Pittsburgh (Dec. 17). He posted his third double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds against Middle Tennessee (Dec. 21).

Jackson is enjoying his best season in a Cincinnati uniform and continues to turn heads over his increased production. He averaged 3.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks as a junior but has increased his output this season, averaging 11.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 blocks. Fifteen games into the season Jackson all ready has surpassed his season total in points (178) and blocks (52) from a year ago.
