Naismith Trophy Midseason Top 30 List
CINCINNATI - University of Cincinnati senior guard Sean Kilpatrick has been named to the Naismith Trophy Midseason Top 30 list the Atlanta Tipoff Club announced on Thursday.
It marks the second consecutive year Kilpatrick has been tabbed to the midseason list.
Kilpatrick leads the American Athletic Conference in scoring with 19.8 points per game. He also ranks among the league leaders in three-pointers made (second at 2.7 per game), free-throw shooting (third at 85.7 percent) and steals (15th at 1.4).
Nationally, Kilpatrick ranks 18th with 495 points, 30th with 67 three-pointers and 30th with 132 free throws this season. His 287 career three-pointers rank seventh in the nation while his 1,939 career points are the ninth-most in the country.
Kilpatrick has led the Bearcats in scoring in each of the last 11 games and in 22 of 25 contests this season. He has scored 20 or more points in 13 games this season, most of any player in the American.
Kilpatrick is the back-to-back reigning American Conference Player of the Week. He is averaging 24.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists with 18 three-pointers over the last five games. He has been named to the league's weekly honor roll seven times.
Kilpatrick is on pace to finish his career as only the second player in school history with 2,000 career points (Oscar Robertson produced 2,973 points from 1958-60).
